Hey everybody! Since I have had such good luck with my new face wash, I thought I would share...
I have had moderate, hormonal acne for years..... I wasn't having much luck clearing it up, so my doctor recommended Glytone Mild Gel Wash and let me tell you....it has been a life saver! I'm on my third bottle now and I'm still loving it! I use it on my face and body...it really keeps my hormonal acne under control and it has a mild exfoliating agent in it so it makes your skin look and feel smooth while it helps heal and prevent breakouts.
Hi ladies, I have very bad acne due to the PCOS, the best cleanser ever is "MD Forte II" you can only get it from the dermatologist but it is so worth it. I have tried everything (neutrogena, cetaphil etc) and this stuff is awesome!
I have tried prescription pills and topicals. Tried many over the counter topicals as well.
What is working for me so far....which it hasnt been too long since I have been doing this....
I am on Nuva Ring (for a different reason than acne) which seems to finally be helping my hormonal acne a bit now too. Been on it since November 07. I also started using new face washes. Every morning I use the St. Ives Microdermabrasion Scrub (is new). Then I use a Salicylic Acid bar soap from brand Oxy. It is an Alpine scent. I lather it on my face and massage it for about a minute or two and wash it off. Then I take an Oxy Cleanser. It used to be called chill factor. It is in a black bottle and 10% bp. I massage this on my face and leave on for about 10 minutes or so. No longer than 15. Then I wash that off as well. Normally I am allergic to bp, however, I think washing it off helps. It doesnt just sit on your skin irritating it. BP is supposed to be completely absorbed into your skin and working in the first 10-15 minutes anyway. Any longer causes irritation. After all the cleansing, I put on Dr. Brandt poreless gel. It has salicylic acid in it as well. Then I move on to my regular makeup routine. It seems to be helping a ton. I usually get those nasty cystic acne around my chin and lower cheek areas. This has really reduced the size and inflammation. I have really noticed my previous scarring improving as well. I do the same routine at night.
Not saying would work for everyone and yes I still get breakouts. But not as severe or as long it seems. Here's to hoping this is a winner.
I have tried Proactive, Murade and all the store brands. The only (2) lines that have worked for my cystic acne are Dr. Patricia Wexler's acne line that I purchased at Bath & Body Works and what I am currently using, Serious Skin Care for Adult Acne from HSN.

I have tried everything as well, Proactive, Neutragena, Clearasil, the works! my bathroom could be the skin care aisle in Wal-Mart! haha! but i agree, MD Forte is the ONLY thing that works for me too, and even when i dont wash my face for 2 days i see the difference. it is hard sumtimes to find products that work on ethnic skin, but this works very well! it contains glycolic acid which is wat i believe makes it work so well. I first got it from my derma, but have found that i can get it on online too. if ne1 wants the website lemme kno.

I have finally found products that actually work! I purchased the Continuously Clear Adult Regimen Starter Kit from HSN. Then I added the Serious Skin Care A-Copper Peptide Duo; Copper Oil Control Serum and Cream. These products balance out my skin perfectly. I am so happy to have products that will hydrate my skin without causing breakouts and control the oil.
I have used the Aqua Glycolic in the past and my husband said he could see a difference. My skin got dry(thanks to my thyroid) and I stopped using it. My dermatologist uses it and recommended it. You can order it online or have your pharmacist order it. I think it's about ten dollars a bottle.
My favorite is Aveeno's foaming cleansar for acne prone skin. Just one pump is enough and the bottle lasts forever, plus i really feel it works and doesn't aggravate my skin more (i've tried clean and clear, proactive, neutro, etc etc etc)
