Default Need and endocrinologist in Chapel Hill/Durham/Raleigh/Cary area

I know there was a female endocrinologist listed a while back that someone said was very good. Anybody remember who that was or know of another? Desperately in need of a new endo. I have one however, I don't care for him. He doesn't listen to me. Any suggestions of a PCOS friendly endo?

Thanks in advance!!

I was referred to Dr. Ann Brown, at Duke. She specializes in insulin resistance and PCOS. I have an appointment in August.

Hello. Dr. Ann Brown is great. I had my 1st appt with her in Feb 2005 and I go back again next Monday for my 6mth follow-up Aug 29. I'm pretty much dealing w/ her nurse practitioner, Kathy Peireira. She is great too...full of so much info. One good thing I think is great is that when you make an appt with them, they'll either send you a PCO survey in the mail to have filled out b4 the appt, or u can fill it out @ the appt. Another good thing is that they talk to you and ask questions...they won't just throw some BCP or Metformin in your face. They listen! I hope u make or have made an appt with them. They are great!! HTH

Just a quick second vote for Dr. Brown/Kathy Pereira at Duke. I had a similar experince to Redd. Saw them both on my first visit 2 years ago. Since then, my contact has been mostly with Kathy. She is very sensitve to our problems/concerns and I feel like she really listens and tries to find what is best for your life (including TTC if that is your goal). I also think they are working with other specialist around the country to better understand PCOS (ask a lot of questions/surveys) which I think is great! They really wnat to help us. Good Luck!
