Need to find a good doctor! Hello,
I am fairly new to the site and I'm so glad I found it. I suspect that I have PCOS and am currently trying to find a good doctor. I live in the Boston area and I didn't know if anyone out there could give me names of a good endocronolgist in my area (one who is very familiar with PCOS). I really want to find someone who is knowledgable in this area. I am on ortho tri cyclen and have been for years. My periods WERE normal up until a year ago and now they are practically non-existent. My doctors have done test and given me exams and say that everything looks fine and it might be because I have been on the pill for so long. They switched me to a pill with a higher estrogen level but that was no good for me. I was emotional on it and I started to break out so they switched me back. I have a few other symptoms of PCOS. I have some facial hair. I used to break out alot when I was a teenager and early 20's but that has since been under control. If I do break out now - it is always around the time when I am supposed to menstruate. At first not getting my period was great - now I feel like something could be wrong with me and I desperately want to have a normal menstrual cycle (never thought I would miss not having my period). I don't know where else to look for answers when it comes to finding a good doctor. I have an appointment in a few weeks with my primary care.....but I just don't think she is knowledgeable with this subject. I want to find a specialist. Can anyone help? I would really appreciate any and all help. Thank you so much in advance |
