Hey ya'll... I am new to the boards so HI!!! I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago and I am looking for a good Doc in the Louisville KY or Southern IN area ... we are not currently TTC (I need to shed the extra weight first) ... Thanks!
I see Dr. Bohler at University OB/GYN Associates (associated with U of L). Dr. Bohler is the only dr. in KY that I can find who specializes in PCOS. Doesn't matter if you're ttc or not. I "googled" him before my first visit and read lots of great stuff from the office website. Definitely worth checking out.
following up on Chrissy's post, when you are ready to TTC Dr. Abdullah with the same group OB/GYN assoc of UL is awesome. Took me 8 years to conceive and he was aggressive enough and now I have 3 sons.

hello, ladies.
Long time no see. We moved to KY and I am now in need of a doctor. I am gonna look up the ones you have recommended. We are in Owensboro, but I am willing to drive for a good dr.

KSMommy - I am in Muhlenberg County (about 30 miles south of you) and I go to Dr. Heather Ricketts in Madisonville (in the Women's Center at Trover Clinic). She is an OB/GYN.
She's a new doctor but she has been GREAT for me. I have always known something was "wrong" with me but none of my other doctors would check into it. They would tell me not to worry about it because I'm young and did not want to have children at the time.
When I went to see Dr. Ricketts for the first time, I told her I was concerned about being able to have children and she immediately scheduled me for bloodwork and an ultrasound. She gave me several options for treating my PCOS: BCPs, prometrium to induce my period every month, or metformin. I am taking metformin now. Now that we're thinking about TTC, she said we might try clomid next. I really like her.
I see Dr Zarmakoupis at the Kentucky Center for Reproductive Medicine in Lexington! She is very size friendly, takes all the time that you need to answer questions and explain things. I love her!! Her husband is a world renowed andrologist specializing in male infertility, he is also in Lexington.

Dr. Zarmakoupis was my Dr. and I had a bad experience with her. First she travels out of the country frequently so she might not be there when you need her. Secondly she overcharged me and I still have not received a refund. Thirdly she is not flexable at all, if you don't do things her way she will just refuse to see you. I am already stressed enough from the process of trying to get pregnant. The last thing I need is for my Dr. to make it worse. I am happy to take suggestions for a new Dr.
I know exactly what you mean, now...I really liked Dr. Zarmakoupis but i didnt need her services because i ended up getting pregnant on my own but i did ask that she prescribe progesterone suppliments. Well she did, but because she REFUSES to send my insurance company ANY of her notes about my situation they refuse to cover the med leaving me paying 400.00 a month out of pocket. I cant understand why she wouldnt send them unless she has some shady billing procedures with insurance. As soon as they found out that i was pregnant they threw me out the door and treat me like they dont even know who i am.
