Default Need a good PCOS/Thyroid Dysfunction Endo in Maryland

I'm on the verge of tears here...

When it was first suggested to me that I might have PCOS, I was sent to an Endo and a Gyn that didn't seem to have any answers. So since then, I've been seeing different doctors at a different practice. Their answer to everything is Spironolactone, Metformin and birth control. I've been on the first two for a very, very long time and it hasn't made any difference at all. But that's it, they're all out of ideas.

So I called my general practitioner for names of PCOS specialists and she gives me the names of doctors that I've already seen! I'm back at square one! I've done searches online and there's no one near me that I haven't already seen (the practices had a lot of doctors in them).

By some miracle, does some one know of a doctor that might be able to help me? I'm pretty much right on the Montgomery County/Howard County line. Thank you.

Default

I recently was diagnosed with PCOS, after numerous doctors in the Annapolis area I had previously seen over the past 6 years could come up with nothing.

It wasn't until my symptoms got worse that my regular internist ordered full tests and did a comprehensive review.

She is located in Ellicott City, right off 108 near 29.

Dr. Rupal Desai, with Crossroads Medical Group. She just put me on glucophage (small dose) plus a thyroid med (mine is out of wack) and a prescription dose of vitamin D (i have very low vitamin d levels). My only concern with her that I will discuss in another month for follow up is nothing is being given for my hormone imbalance (low estrogen, high testosterone) but I think she's going slowly with the meds. She's very approachable and personable and thorough.

If you need more info, feel free to contact me directly.

Good luck!
