Default Need a Good RE in CT

I have been seeing a RE for the past 3 years and I am very unhappy with him and his lack of willingness to help DH and I concieve- everytime we go to him there is another reason why he "can't" help us. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I would like an RE that is Full Figure Friendly as well as helpful.

Hi
I am sorry for the probs with your curent RE. I go to UCONN in farmington and I love it there. My weight has not been brought up except for the need to have a anesthesia consult for my IVF due to their BMI guidelines but that was nothing it was just a bunch of questions they didn't even weigh me at that appointment. I go to the Center for Advanced Reproductive Services. I have been seeing Dr. Nulsen for a year and a half.

Thank you for getting back to me Pebbles. I find ur story very interesting as I too go to UCONN and I see Dr Benadiva. He has told DH and I that the anesthesia department has changed the protocols for doing IVF and that because my BMI is off the chart and my neck size is more then a certain # of inches around they will not even do the IVF or talk about it with us, he told us our only chance is IUI which he "doubts will work cause my DH SA just about all 0 across the board. I have another appt with Benadiva on 11/5 and I really do not think his story is going to change even though I have lost 27 lbs which is why I was looking for another Dr. I wonder if all the Dr's in that practice will say the same thing or if it would be worth meeting with another dr.

I am sorry you had difficulty there. I had a few experiences with dr. benediva for my Ultrasounds. I personally do not like him. I found him to be detached and I question some of the decisions he made regarding my IUI's He did two of my ultrasounds and the last one he had me trigger with a 17mm follie. when my Dr (Nulsen) told me they like to see between 18-19mm at least. I felt I went to early. The one prior to that he over stimmed me for my IUI to the point that I had 12 follies. Instead of having me come in for daily follie checks he had me go three more days at 187.5iu of gonal when i had 15, 14, 14, 13 follies. I ended up with 6 potential 19 18 17 16 16 14 with a total of 6 more at 13mm or smaller. I ended up in so much pain from that.
I just don't like his bedside manner. I also work with a girl who ran across him and said the same.
I really like my doc Dr. Nulsen. All the nurses told me (marsha) I believe was due to my BMI I needed an anesthesia consult which was really no big deal that was back in September.
Congrats on the weight loss that is an accomplishment!!!

I am seeing a great fertility specialist in New Britain. His name is Dr Luciano. He is very nice and very helpful. From what im told hes one of the best around. He has been featured in newspapers and magazines. Hes very hard to get into becuase he is so good. When i first went to his office as a new patient it took about 2 months to get in there. But once your in your dont have to wait that long for an apointment.
