Default Need an GYN in DC/MD suburbs

I live in the College Park/Greenbelt area and am looking for a new gyn. Up until recently I have had my health insurance through Kaiser and had little choice.

I would preferably like a GYN who is PCOS friendly. I also see an endo and have an amazingly supportive PCP.

Hi there!

I use to live in your area and my OB was Amy Ampey 18111 PRINCE PHILIP DR STE 323. (301) 774-2600 also Dr. Goodman at the same practice is a good doctor as well. Dr. Ampey is one of those doctors that takes the time to explain things to you and is willing to refer you out if needed. My mother saw Dr. Goodman who diagnosed a slow growing brain tumor that went unnoticed by other doctors for 10 years. Both doctors really make an effort to figure out what's wrong with you and not to just throw meds at you and hope you feel better.

Hope that helps and good luck in the doctor search.

Hi unsureaboutitall - Do you mind sharing the name of your endo? My sister's internist suspects PCOS but we are having a hard time find a good endo in the DC area.

As far as gyns go, I use Dr. Alagia but he is in McLean, VA which might be a little far for you.

Thank you for the advice!

Hi unsureabouitall - quick question. My sister is looking for a very good endo in Washington, DC or surrounding area as her internist suspects she has PCOS and we have not been able to find much information or leads out there. Would you mind letting me know what endo you see? As far as gyns, I see Dr. Alagia but he is McLean, VA 703-748-9880 which may be too far for you to travel. I do not have PCOS but do have other conditions and he has been wonderful.

Thank you!!
