Need Help!!

Hi There,

My best friend has joined the boards (melinda84) but she cannot access anything.

She can read posts.

She cannot edit anything in her User CP, she cannot look at her own profile, cannot post replies or new threads, etc.

Basically all she can do is read.

Can anyone help?!

She gets this error when trying to do anything else:

vBulletin Message You do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

She apparently registered at least one other account besides "melinda84".

If a member attempts to register a second account, the system will freeze BOTH accounts.

What is the other account name use registered?

HI Kat,

She did register initially with melindaleigh and had the same problems with that one from the start.

I helped her register the second one, melinda84 today with a different email address.

If possible we;d like to delete melindaleigh account.

Kat,

There was one other account registered melinda357 but this again used a different email address.

I know that when I tried to register her today, After I hit submit it brought me to an error screen that says You have no Entered a User Name.

However, the confirmation email still came to the email address and I clicked the link as instructed. It brought me back to the SC site but another error messages says, your account is already activated, try logging in. But it had already logged me in...

Who attempted to register it? (it doesn't matter that a person uses a different email address. That's not how the system catches people)

Is "melinda357" her other account, or are there others?

Kat,

The other accounts were registered only because there she could not use the first account (melindaleigh) at all, other to view posts. She was never able to use these.

We both clicked the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page and sent email requests, however the emails were returned.

I figured I could help since I was a regular on the board and was not having any problems with my account.

The second account (melinda357) was registered by Melinda using a different email address because since the first one wasn't working.

Today, I tried registering (melinda84) for her from my computer, in hopes that a different computer would solve the problem. It also let me see what error messages come up. At first I thought she only couldn't view things because she was new and had no posts.

She only wants one account for herself (She is a fellow PCOS Cyster as well as a Clomid Cyster). She would like to be able to post replies, questions and edit her own profile.

I am sorry for the problems this may have caused, but please note that the problem existed from the very first time she registered (melindaleigh). She had never registered prior to that.

This board is a very important support tool for myself and I feel it would an equally important tool for my best friend, Melinda.

Please let us know what we need to do to resolve this.

I'll delete accounts below and she can re-register. Tell her to use a valid email address. After she registers, the system will send an email with an 'activation' link. If she doesn't see the email, tell her to check her spam box. (It sounds like she never activated her first account)

Note to anyone else reading this: don't register more than one account, or log in under someone else's account. The system will automatically freeze the account.
