I am now on 750 mg of gluc and will try to up again this weekend. Lately, when I eat, I throw it right up. It is always different foods too. Once was a banana, so I havent had one since. The other time was low carb toast with butter & no sugar jelly. As soon as food hits my stomach, I have to bring it up. Someone told me to check my sugar levels. Fasting (when I wake up in the morning) is around 95 usually. I also took it 2 hours after I ate and it is 71. So it appears that it is getting lower after I eat. Now is this what I want or causing me to be sick. I have virtually cut all sugar out of my diet (unless it is in something I eat, which is rare).
The other thing is I am always extremely tired and there are days that I never feel full. I feel like my stomach is empty and nauseous. Plus I am nauseous almost all the time.
Can anyone shed some light??
Thanks.
P.S. I forgot to say I am at this point not considered diabetic.

A few years ago a doctor tried to put me on gluc... man oh man did it give me the trots! I couldn't tolerate it...
Have you tried taking the gluc with food so it doesn't tear up your tummy so bad... (oh wait... food doesn't stay down!) Um... I'd ask my doc for something else... there are a lot of people who just cant tolerate gluc... I hung in for a month but had to stop! Good luck! Pauline

I just up'd to 1000 mg. I am handling it ok, but I am now monitoring my glucose levels more often. I think it is dropping my levels and that's what's making me throw up what I eat. I have been keeping things down so far, but I find I feel better if I eat something with sugar when I don't feel well. I don't see my dr. until June, but I am going to monitor glucose levels and ask her then. I am not really losing any weight either. Not sure what is going on. Once I get blood work again, that should tell me something.

Different people handle Met differently. I had an upset stomach, no appetite and food tasted bland when I first began. I also spent most of my days (and nights) in the bathroom, but I've adjusted to it. It took me about three months. I suggest you call your dr and tell him/her what you have just told us though, just to make sure. I don't like the sound of your blood sugar dropping after you eat. That doesn't sound good.
Also if you are distributing any other symptoms such as: hyperventilation, slow and erratic pulse, weakness, muscle pain, sleepiness, and feeling of extreme unwellness then this is a sign of lactic acidosis. Stop taking Met immediately and call you doctor.
