Okay...I've posted this in the ttc, pg and mommy forum b/c I didn't know where to post it. I need help! Can any of you help me?
I am not sure where to post this. I thought I might get some help here. I am not ttc. I am on bcp and have been for about 4 mos. I am experiencing some strange things at the moment and not sure what's going on. I am on cd 15 of this cycle. I had a period on schedule last cycle. I had sex during the last 7 days of the cycle. I know people can get pg on the pill, but will it occur that late in a cycle? Currently I am have bb tenderness and twinges of pain around my right ovary. If I did conceive at that late time and had a period, wouldn't a pg test be positive by now? It is 3 weeks past the time of us having sex. I have taken 2 both clearly negative. Do you technically have to miss a period to take a pg test?
Also can you develop cysts on bcp? This is kind of what it feels like as well. However I don't remember bb tenderness with it (but that could also be from different muscle use...sore muscle, b/c it isn't exactly my bb's but area behind it).
Also, could it be an ectopic pg? How would I know? I am not sure of what's going on. I could just use some help and thoughts please! TIA!!!

I would say that you might be Oing right now and that is what the pain is. The BB tenderness is sometimes normal in the 2w before your AF. If you were having an eptopic PG you would be having spotting and ALOT of pain. I have one and the only sign was the spotting for 3 months. other then that it hurt like hell when it burst. I would say that everything is ok and you are not PG but if you are conserned you should go see your DR.

I expect that if you were on a low dose bcp, you could feel some cyst pain. I have cyst pain sometimes and have even had one cyst rupture on my bcp, which is a low dose pill. I don't know if the higher dose pills would help prevent that. My gyno told me that it doesn't mean the pill isn't working. Mine seems to be working anyway--my periods are like clockwork, skin has cleared up, and I haven't gotten pg (which I definitely don't want to happen yet). But we do use backup protection since I'm paranoid that the pill isn't going to work. I got a diaphragm just to put my mind at ease.
My guess is unless you have some reason to think the pill isn't working, like if you were on antibiotics or took one late, then you're probably not pg. It sounds like cyst pain, and the breast tenderness could be a PMS thing--it sounds like you're around the right time in your cycle to have that. It is also common to have a very light or no period on the pill. Mine is now about 3 days long and my gyno told me that happens because the pill thins the endometrial lining, and not to be surprised if it stops completely. Stressing about being pg could even make it late. So even if it is late, you might not be pg. Call your doctor if you're worried. They should be able to tell you if your symptoms are normal.
Thank you all. I am beginning to think this is o pain as well. I have even had my milk ducts flare up. But in talking with my mom she did this for years after my brother. I dont know if maybe my hormone levels are just off or what. But thank you again and anyone else that may have insight, TIA!!
