Exclamation Need help dealing with mood swings

I came off the pill in January, and apparently my hormones are back because my mood is all over the map. I go from happy and hopeful to depressed, anxious, sad and unstable. I've already engaged in self-harm, which is something that I haven't done in years. I don't want to lose control again. Most of the time I'm ok, I just find that I can be triggered very easily. Even by inane things. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Julie

are you ttc? can you go back on the pill? seems like the simplest solution! hmm maybe I should go on the pill if it helps with moodiness. I am horribly moody! all over the map just like you. it sucks bigtime!

Yes, we are TTC. I think that really adds to the moodiness because it's really stressful.

Default exercise

maybe exercise if you don't already. i heard it helps with anxiety (exercising had same effect as paxil in one study!!) and also with depression. Moodiness is part of depression so I think if you stepped up the exercise it would (a) be a good stress reliever esp since you are ttc (b) help with moodiness and (c) maybe help get your hormones under control

so I would try that! otherwise meds are always possible.

let me know if anything works for you! I was thinking of going on meds and I have a script for Lexapro but I don't know if it's worth it. PM if you want to talk!

LOL! I'm on Effexor and I excersize 5 days a week. I think it's just because I'm stressed out from TTC!

ERRR, I had the post all ready and goofed it up and lost it.

I wondered if a different anti-depressant might work. Also, to try and eat very nutritionally to gvie yourself something to focus on in preparation for pregnancy. And, wishing you TTC {{{vibes}}}. All that written nicer but disappeared. Hope you get my thoughts though Lendi
