Thumbs down Need help finding a clomid and pcos freindly doctor im from leduc,alberta10minsfromED

Hi, My names Stacey.
I'm from leduc alberta like 10 mins out of edmonton. I found I have pcos in september, been ttc for 2 years befor knowing I had it. I am seeing a doctor that isn't clomid freindly, nore I think pcos freindly. She wont put me on clomid saying that theres really no one in alberta that she knows will give it out cause its extreamly dangrous and like a death sentance for woman. She said It had nothing to do with my body or me, that she just wouldnt give it to anyone, not just me. Now my pcos is a bet serous. As you see from my siggy. She put me on met 500 mgs in september and now im on 1000mgs. How ever I would like to try clomid, I could careless about the twins or more cause after I have anouther child she wants to talk about getting my woman hood taken out. And I can aford it and stuff like that considering im a attachment parent (alot cheaper way to parent anywho) cloth diapers breastfeeding stuff like that.Almost 2 and a half years of trying im sick and tired of trying I WANT ONE MORE BABY!
can any of you girls who live near me point me in the right drection? sorry about spelling girls im in pitch dark like cant see the key board at all! and spellcheck dosent work for me on this site i have no idea why oh p.s. i hate the 2 year waite for the ttc clinic!!!!!!grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr soryyyyyyyyyyyy!

I'm not in Edmonton but I'm replying to give your post a bump. Im dissapointed that no one has posted with some answers for you.

Have you already asked for a referral to the fertility clinic?

I would expect you'll want to have your met increased to 1500mg if you haven't yet. It really does take 1500 mg for it to help fertility wise. That's what my doctor says and he's extremely PCOS friendly.

If worse comes to worse you could use Soy as well. That you can get over the counter.

Good luck Littlemommie, I know a couple of Edmonton Cysters so I'll see if I can send some help your way.

Im sorry that your doctor seems PCOS ignorant. I would STRONGLY consider changing your doctor, I am assuming this is a family physcian (GP)? Most GP's that I know will not even try to get you ovualating, or try to solve the PCOS problem. They should be refering you to a experienced OB-GYN.

The doctor should not even be opening their mouth about whether or not that you can afford a baby mentally or physically.

I have a WONDERFUL doctors clinic who will refer you to either the Endocrine and Fertility Clinic, or a experience PCOS OB-GYN, and with PCOS, there is no 2 year wait to get your referal. As soon as I was diagnosed with PCOS I got my referal sent, I only was TTC for about 6 months with no meds. Once my referal was recieved it only took about 6 months in total to get to see a doctor at the clinic.

Clomid is NOT a death sentance for women - I work in pharmacy and it is a great drug that works wonders for women with PCOS. Hearing that your doctor says that makes me BEYOND mad,

Please let me know if there is any other information I can pass on your way.

Again, sorry it took so long to find your post, but weemes posted so we could help you out. Come join us over at http://www.soulcysters.net/albertan-...ke-2-a-262303/

Good Luck

I agree with Jen. I wasn't diagnosed with pcos until after I had 3 kids and was ttc with my 4. The dr I saw didn't watch me while on clomid so I asked my gp to send me to the fertiility clinic. I would ask your dr to send you to the clinic and make sure that the pcos is in the list as a diagnosis. They will generally see you sooner. Come on over and have a seat at the Alberta sisters group. We are friendly....especially after some chocolate

Hey there.. I'm sure you've already found an excellent doc.. however I have a great reference for you, and she's very close! I see Dr. A. Sails in Beaumont. The practice number is 780-929-6050. She is such an amazing woman, and she's helped me so much thus far. She has me on Met to start, however Chlomid would be our next step. I think the Met is working though, so I may not get to that point.
I wish you lots of luck!.. please let me know if you decide to try her. She's great. Please private message me if you have any other questions

I saw Dr Mao( Edmonton NOrth) good if you are TTC he is a reproductive specialist owrd to the wise don't bother going to see him if you are not ttc as he doesn't feel women who are finished having children need pcos treatment at all. and Dr. Eva Dedeoming(St.ALbert) is Fantastic she also referred me to and Endocrinologist.
Both were very knowledgeable. I have also seen Dr Eva Opgenorth at the U of A hospitial. She is an Endocrinologist and is FANTASTIC!!!
