Unhappy Need help with medication

Hello Everyone,
I just had my bloodwork done by my gyn.
He told me that because my insulin is too high (28 when it should be about 17) that I need to get back on glucophage, however when I used to be on glucophage it made me pass out and extremely sick I could not function while on it. He never gave me a full counsultation on my bloodwork only the nurse claimed to have talked to him as he had an emergency and could not keep his appointment (they sure still charged me that 40 dollar co-pay though which I felt was really lame). Anyway I am very concerned about the thought of getting back on glucophage and thought I will ask here - Anyone know of a good medication or natural way to lower insulin without dropping glucose? (My glucose was 73) Metformin box itself says to call the doctor if it drops below 80 and a diabetic co-worker told me metfoormin generally drops bloodsugar 50+ points which would throw me into a comma if it did that with my current 73. I need to find a way to drop this insulin though - this is the first time they have even tested my insulin previously they only tested glucose and it was always ok between 70-85. I don't want to turn into a diabetic I am so worried right now - I know I eat fairly healthy most of the time with exception of the occasional ice-cream and cookie dough shake from sonic. If anyone has any suggestions I am open to anything! I was looking into the chromium supplement thing too but that says it lowers blood sugar also.
I think mine gets really low quite often - yesterday for example after work I went home and I started feeling really weak and dizzy so I rested on the bed and next thing I know 3 hours passed and my boyfriend was waking me - I still felt really weak but then I took a drink of smoothie king cherry picker he had gotten me and I felt ok again. I hope I am not already diabetic but the bloodwork said everything was ok cept for insulin being high and some dioxide thing was too low. Please write me back if you can help!
thank you for reading!

Hi ive been on Metformin for about 5 months now (although im not insulin resistant) and my glucose has not dropped at all. My insulin did go down, too low i think (it was 2 at my last blood test) but my glucose has remained steady in the normal range.
