Question Need laser info from success stories!!!

A few questions. I'm in the process of saving up for this, and I'm clueless. I read the sticky, but it left me with even more questions.

1)How much did you pay per session? I'm going to start with my chin/'stache, maybe my tummy next.

2)Were you allowed to shave before and between treatments? The laser places I've called told me it's a no-no, but there's NO WAY I'm going out in public with a full beard while the treatments are ongoing.

3)What type of laser did you use?

4)How many sessions did it take for you to see a difference? How many for a major improvement?

5)How often do you need to go back for touch-ups?

I think that's it. Please help! I'd like to get started this fall.

I've been doing the Aurora laser at Nuvo International Laser center (it's a chain). I was told I have to shave before each treatment. No plucking or any other method of hair removal allowed. I pay about $169 per treatment about every 6 weeks. I've had 8 treatments so far and have seen about a 50% improvement. It's slow going but it's worth it.
I think I first saw improvement at about 4-5 treatments. All the reading I've done said it would take somewhere between 8-10 treatments to see a difference since I have PCOS. I used to have to shave every morning and evening (if I was going out or DBF coming over). Now I still shave every a.m. but it doesn't take as long and I don't usually have to do it in the evening.
As a word of caution, I didn't have any pain the first 6 treatments. It would be a little uncomfortable at times but nothing major. The last two have hurt! My eyes were watering. They have turned up the intensity of the laser each time and now that I'm seeing results seems to corelate with it hurting. Mostly the areas where the hair is more dense. I don't mean to scare you but I feel I need to be honest about it. The girl who did it was great. When it got to be too much I asked her to stop and she moved on to another area and came back to it later.

Thanks, Heather. I'm set on doing this, so you're NOT going to scare me away. I'm glad she switched spots when it started to hurt, though!

1)How much did you pay per session? I pay 120 Euros for my full face for the first five sessions, after that I pay half for each additional treatment. Not sure what the current conversion is, maybe $160? It's a really good deal.

2)Were you allowed to shave before and between treatments? Of course!!! How else would I go out in public??? What you cannot do is pluck.

3)What type of laser did you use? Lightsheer.

4)How many sessions did it take for you to see a difference? Saw a big effect after the first treatment already. Have had three now and wanna say it's 75% less already.

5)How often do you need to go back for touch-ups? I would not call them touch-ups, but follow-up treatments. I have about five weeks in between treatments now, but some people go longer. Depends on how fast your hair grows back.

HTH. Hope you'll have your money saved up soon. It is SO WORTH it!!!
