I have just recently been diagnosed w/ PCOS. I am currently seeing the Dr's at Westside OB/GYN in Burlington, NC. I have a friend that also goes there that has told me a few stories that concern me abouth this practice. Does anyone know a good Dr. to recommend in the triad area or have any experience (good or bad) with Westside?
Hey! I live in Burlington and work in Greensboro. How small is this world???? I am not familiar with the doctor's at Westside. My gynecologist is in Chapel Hill. I made an appointment with Dr. Narin's in Greensboro for October, but just received a call stating that he is moving his practice to SC. Please let me know if you can find a decent doc in the area. My primary care physician is Charlene Scott but she won't prescribe Glucophage other than for diabetes.
When I was pregnant with my daughter I went to Pinewest OB/GYN in High Point. Don't even know if he's still there, but Dr. Jacobs was my favorite. A lot of friends like Dr. Farrington, but I didn't (emphatically stated). Dr. Jacobs was great when I had preterm at 27 weeks. Don't know how knowledgable he is about PCOS, but you could call and ask - he seemed to stay up on all the latest issues.
I just wanted to bump this up to see if there were any more recommendations for NC doctors, specifically in the Raleigh/Durham area. I just moved to NC and I don't know anyone locally that I can ask. I've already checked the find a doctor link at the top. Any info you can share will be appreciated. Thanks!
yltnelis - I go to Mid-Carolina OBGYN in Raleigh. It's at Rex Hospital. All of the doctors there are great, especially Tami Stephens and Sarah Maddison.

Dr Bruggers is great ... he's in the Cary/Raleigh area. I used him until I moved to KY a few years ago. I didn't have PCOS when I was going to him.. However I had other big problems and he was very informed and up to date on everything. He even went to great lengths to find a Dr he would recommend in this little town I moved to in Western KY... and She is great!

Brookview Women's Center of Winston-Salem is wonderful. I saw two of the three OBs there and they were both great. My cuz went to one as her GYN and loved her too. It is owned by Dr. Pittaway, but he's retired. There were three OB/GYNs on staff as of last March (all female). The nurses are great too.

It's near Hanes Mall, Forsyth Medical Center (most locals call it Forsyth Hospital) and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (Most locals call it Baptist Hospital).
Forsyth delivers babies, but doesn't treat infants and toddlers in the ER, or admit them for treatment in the hospital.
Baptist treats infants and toddlers (including ER treatment) , but doesn't deliver babies.
