I also love yasmin & have had good luck with it, so I can't suggest an alternative. But, maybe a low-dose would be better than a normal OCP???
Back to yasmin though, does your insurance not help with the cost?
My gyn is a great guy & he sympathizes with me being a poor student. He will occasionally write me a letter of necessity for the BCP and tells the insurance company that I need the pill in order to receive my period, rather than for BC reasons. That way they can't deny it, cuz the med is to treat a medical condition (amenorrhea: no periods).
