Default Need a new Doc in San Antonio, TX

Hi everyone,

My primary care doc, an O.D., has resigned her practice and moved on to teaching. I don't feel comfortable at the practice anymore, so I'm looking for a new one. Any suggestions?

I haven't been 'diagnosed' just yet with PCOS- the first gynocologist I ever saw (at 24) said she was sure I had it, but she 'didn't need to treat it' because I'm a lesbian. Ugh.

So- I think I need a new gyno or endo as well. My D.O. used to do my pap, etc., so I haven't been seeing a gyno. I was diagnosed with hypotyroidism a few months ago... I'm confused as to who I need to see. Any advice/ suggestions would be welcome!

this is who i go to, he is NOT a pcos specialtist, but he has helped me out some, i think that your sexual perfreances has nohting to do with PCOS. and i think its good that you are trying to find a new doctor i know i would...

i go to Dr.Newton, at the wemon's health services south east clinic 1055 ada its threw the university health system and their number is 210-358-5740 they take all insurances... and are very clean and respectful...

Default one idea

I don't know what type of doctor you should see, but a General Practitioner in town, whom I use and really like, is Amy Thomas. Since she is a General Practitioner, I think she should be able to do your gyn exams, too. She also was good at diagnosing a thyroid problem for me and then referring me out when it was necessary.

For gyn care, though, I've been using the Lone Star Midwives. This is my first month off the pills to start TTC. If it doesn't happen then I will need to find an RE, but while I was just on BCPs for the PCOS the midwives were great. I especially recommend Amy Bible, but I've also seen Jan, who is good, and I've heard great things from a friend about Lois.
