I'm looking for a new physician in the Denver area familiar with treating PCOS.
Three years ago my gynocologist suspected I had PCOS, I'd suspected it for the seven previous years. She ran some tests, confirmed I had it and put me on medication. One month later when I went in for a follow up I was told she had moved to Arizona - none of the other physicians at the practice had one single clue about PCOS. Even after my explaining they couldn't grasp why a non-diabetic would be on Metformin.
So it took me the next two years to find another physician that was familiar with treatment. He is a fabulous Dr, the problem is he is an infertility specialist. I don't have issues with infertility and don't plan on having any more kids so I'm really looking for someone that can treat me from just the perspective of improving my health without any other goal in mind.
I haven't yet seen an endocrinologist (sp?), but I think that may be my best bet.
Anyone have any suggestions on Dr. type or referrals in the area?
Dr. Rees-Jones in Aurora. Has been the top endo in 2080 magazine for several years. Becuase of this, it might take a while to get an appointment, but it's worth it.
They specialize in the thyroid and diabetes. I went there for my thyroid and they diagnosed me with PCOS. I am TTC, but that isn't exactly their speciality.
The thing I like is that they LISTEN.

Thanks in advance!
I am interested in the Dr. that you were seeing (the infertility Dr.) I am looking for a Dr. that knows PCOS and knows infertilty caused by PCOS!!
His name is Michael Swanson. His practice is located in Highlands Ranch - Right off of C470 & County Line.
His contact info is below:
271 West County Line Road
Littleton, CO 80129-1901
(303) 794-0045
I highly recommend him. He not only started me on my PCOS treatment, but also performed my laproscopy to get rid of some painful cysts. He is super nice, very knowledgeable, and not to bad to look at. ;-)
Thank you so much. HR is not that far from me. I am going to a OB/GYN and a family Dr. in Parker right now. I actually had read alot about Dr. Swanson so I am going to see how long of a wait it is to get an appointment!!
