Default Need RE in Norwalk, Connecticut area

Hi everyone,

I have been seeing Dr. H. Christina Hanley (in Bridgeport, CT) since I was a teenager. She initially diagnosed me as PCOS. Since I have been TTC she recommended that I go to my OB/GYN for further tests. I saw my OB/GYN this morning and she requested blood tests (she suspects PCOS, IR). Depending on the results, I may need to see a RE who understands PCOS and IR. Is anyone familiar with a good RE in the Norwalk area (preferably associated with Norwalk Hospital)? Thanks in advance for your help.

Smile Norwalk Reproductive Endocrinologist

Dr. Doyle in Norwalk is excellent. He is a reproductive endo but he is extremely knowledgable about PCOS & he will treat you for it even if you are not TTC. He really cares. Check out his site:

Also if you are interested I am trying to start up a PCOS support group. Our first meeting is 8/23 at 1pm at the West Haven Public Library. Try to make it if you can!

Good luck,
Rachel

Thanks Rachel for your replys. I did end up going to Connecticut Fertility Associates and saw Dr. Levi...this was on July 1st. On July 7th I tested positive for pregnancy (Unbelieveable since I had been told by my ob/gyn that i wasn't ovulating. Even Dr. Levi didn't think I was ovulating regularly). Anyway, I don't think I will be attending the support group as West Haven is a bit far for me and quite honestly, I haven't been feeling well so far (hope that gets better)! Good luck with the group! It is a great idea!

Margie,

Sorry that you received a not so warm welcome with Dr. Hanley's office. Dr. Hanley is wonderful. As I mentioned I have been seeing her since I was a teenager (I am now 34). She was not going to help me with any infertility issues though. I ended up going to Dr. Levi in Norwalk. He was really nice. I had a consultation with him and 6 days later I tested + for pregnancy...a coincidence. : )

My father sees Dr. Nejad in Bridgeport. He used to be in the same practice as Dr. Hanley but they are no longer together. My father has a condition that requires weekly visits so he knows Dr. Nejad very well. He absolutely loves him and has a ton of respect for him. I have never met Dr. Nejad but he holds a very special place in my heart. My dad had been not well for over ten years. He saw many different kinds of doctors and no one could really put the pieces together. He walked into Dr. Nejad's office and was told that he knew what the problem was and how to fix it (my dad was about 6 months away from death at that point). That was several years ago. Today Dad is back to his old self and thriving. Dr. Nejad is the main reason for that. I also know that there is an RE in Nejad's group but she often consults him on her RE cases. He is extremely smart and well educated. I think he is definitely worth a try.

Good luck. HTH!

Alicia
