Question Need reasurrance about Clomid

Hello. We've been TTC for just over 3 years, dx with PCOS about 2 years ago, on Met about 1/2 years. I am going to be starting Clomid for the first time soon. As soon as AF starts (any day now), I have to go in to see the doc as he will check to make sure I do not have any cysts, and then I will start my very first round cd5-9. I have been putting off using Clomid because, well.... I've been chicken about the side effects. Expecially the overstimulation of the overies that can happen. In one aspect, I am excited to get things going, but also very nervious. My doc thinks I will be a good canidate for Clomid, because I do O each month since I've been on Met even though I O anywhere from cd15-cd29. I am usually a very practical person, and because of that I know that we need to take the next step.........but, can anyone calm my silly nerves about starting Clomid?

Evieths ~ Good luck w/ the Clomid!! I was up to 200mg Clomid and my side effects were hot flashes but that only happened when I was on the higher dose. I never hyperstimed. I'm sure it can happen but is more common with the injectibles. Sounds like you will be a great candidate for it and you may only need the 50mg since you are already O'ing on your own. Keep us posted.

Good luck with clomid hun! I didnt have really too many side effects on it, just some hot flashes and a headache but other than that I was good. If you take it at night then the side effects wont be so bad. You'll be fine, dont worry hun. Some people dont even get side effects from it. Hope your one of them.

Thanks for replying ladies! I feel a bit better. You see, I was just remembering when I had to take progesterin once to make AF stop after my m/c and, I remember the side effects I got from it. (I think DH had to hide the knives )But I guess since I know about it ahead of time, I can be prepared.. IF I get them.

At night....good idea. Makes perfect sence. Did that when I started taking Met to lessen s/e.
