I left a post on the PCOS story board regarding my symptoms, but the more I read into the site and my symptoms I am starting to believe I may have both. Also, because I have a strong family history of endometriosis, diabetes and fertility problems. My symptoms are abnormal & excessive hair growth, big belly, bloating, extrememly dry skin, facial acne, overweight about 31 BMI, dry hair which falls out in clumps, irregular period, terrible crampy feeling this month, passed huge clots, went to the ER after I had to leave work for bleeding through my clothes. Oh, the cycle was 2 weeks early this month and is normally 2 weeks late.. My period has been gone for about 3 days still having crampy feeling, constantly feeling like I have to have a BM, pulling feeling in pelvic area. I haven't been able to lift my son since the cycle started this month. ((TMI)) I know, I have an appt with my PCP on 04/25 and GYN appt on 05/01. I've known for a while I have been infertile..I do have 2 sons but I have had to try for 4 years for each of them. I would like to have more children while my age is still an advantage. What do you guys think?

My initial impression as I read your post is that you simply have a horrific case of PCOS- that is, until I read about the "pulling" sensation in your pelvic area. That can indeed be a symptom of endometriosis.
What did your visit three weeks ago with the gyn reveal, if anything?

Hi sorry you are so miserable. They can go in and do a labrascopic procedure (simple outpatient) and tell you if you have endo. I would say the symptoms can be so close to the same its hard to tell. Since you have children too, your doctor may be less likely to want to give you dx of endo. Its so hard I know. I have 2 children too and mine are 7 years apart, I had one mc between them but it was so rough. I had my tubes done after my son, cause Ive always had terrible cycles, heavy bleeding and cramping, and after the mc and a tough preg with my son I was scared to go through it again. Then I ended up having the ablation for the bleeding, not an option for you if you want more children but eventually just this past year had hyst and Im only 32. So I wish you the best, but you are right to want to have your children now. Best ofluck with that.
Oh dear, poor you! Sounds like bad PCOS but the passing of huge clots and heavy bleeding I myself have experienced, and I had a laparoscopy last month which confirmed endo. The sensations you describe sound like mine too. Pulling, burning, sharp stabbing etc.. I had endometriomas all over my reproductive system, which were removed with diathermy, and that has given some relief. Also no bleeding problems since.
In any case, whether it is endo or not, you should have a laparscopy to see what's going on, as you can't live like this, not knowing or how much you'll be bleeding and with the pain etc. I would seriously talk to a gynaecologist.
xx
PCOS does not cause pain unless you have a cyst and does not cause clots/heavy bleeding - sound like you have both to me. It's very common to have both.
