Default Need some advice Please...

First off just wanted to say hello. Im new to the group so i am hoping to find some support here. Sorry for the long post but i just need some help...

I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago, have been placed on Metformin 1500mg a day.

We have been TTC for about 2 1/2 years now with no luck and after almost a year of testing they just started me on CLomid with HCG.

So i took clomid on day 5-9, went in for ultrasounds on day 12 and then again day 15. On day 15 they notified me that i had three eggs at size 15, 16 and 18 and that i was to take the 7500 mg of Novarel (hcg) that night. So i took the shot and not realizing that it would make me test positive without it being out of my system i took a pregnancy test. Of course it came back positive. I was excited but then did some research and realized that was why i tested positive. So it roughly should be out of my system about 8 to 10 days after...

So being the impatient person i am i had to take another test 7 days after and it came back negative. So of course i was highly upset and disappointed. Now here's where it gets tricky.

Techinically its one week after my shot and it came back negative which means the HCG shot is not likely in my system any more but its still only day 22 in my cycle which means a pregnancy test would not work yet right?? Because my actual pregnancy hormone is not reading high enough yet?

So does anyone have any experiences like this where it came out you were pregnant? Or can you advise if its typical to come back negative at first and then come back positive later in your cycle? I know im probably not pregnant but i would like to at least know the answer to this for next couple of months.

P.S. I'm just so bummed...

aesweetie,
According to the pregnancy chart my dr gave me for a woman with roughly a 30-day cycle, you should do a pregnancy test on Days 27 or 28.
I haven't been fortunate to find a need to take an HPT just yet, so I can't offer anymore advice than that.
I wish you the best of luck and baby dust to you.

Hi!

I would wait and test a week later to be sure. It could very well be that you do not have high enough HCG levels to get a positive yet.

I know how you feel. I always feel like it's never going to work, but try to be positive. There's still a chance!

Once you take an HCG trigger most docs want you to take an HPT until you get a negative. That shows that it has cleared the system. Then around 14DPO they want you to take the real HPT to see if you got that BFP!
If you get a - but then on 14DPO get a + then you can believe that this one is for real.
I hope that helps you out! GL on that BFP! TERRA

Also, you said your eggs were 15, 16, 18 Right? Well when your on Clomid only they want to wait till the eggs are 18 at least. So with you being triggered with only 1 18mm and the other 15 and 16 this could impact the maturity of the smaller ones. So if follies grow 1-2 mm a day then you could have had at the most a 20, 18, and 17 when they ruptured and at the least a 19, 17, 16 at O. So if your having egg quality issues or implantation issues and they are trying for 3 eggs for you, them triggering you with your follies at those sizes only gives you 1 maybe 2 viable eggs.
The bigger the follies are the better the chance they hold a viable egg.
Just wanted to share that with ya. Your chances of getting PG could have greatly improved had they triggered you 1 day later. Then all of you eggs would have been over 18mm.

Not saying that your chances of PG are not good but having 3 viable eggs over 1maybe 2 is better when we are having difficulties already KWIM?

GL with getting that BFP soon! -Terra

The only problem is that my HCG level came back low. Only 28. So they said its a good chance i miscarriage. I have to go back in on monday for another blood test. *fingers crossed**
