Default Need some guidance

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since I posted here. so I will kinda briefly update so I can fill ya all in

I have two children (pre pcos dx).

At 25 I heard the 'news'. I have been ttc every since, and when I realized I wasn't ovulating, I was finally able to find a doctor that was responsive to my needs.

After 2 1/2 years of ttc, we're finally preggo again. (two m/c's later).

100 mg clomid, and now nightly progesterone sup. to sustain b/c I literally make NO progesterone on my own. damn pcos.

Anyways. to my questions. I am sick of PCOS sick of all it entails etc.

At my most recent ultrasound It was noticed I have a cyst on my left ovary (oooo surprised!) I could even tell him which one! I always have pain there even before the dx b/c I had it herniated at birth and had surgery, so it's always been sensitive.

Anyways. Since they're alreayd going to be performing a cesarean with this baby. Would I benefit from removal of that ovary? and tyin' off the other one?

I can't have more kids b/c of the cesarean factor, I was wondering do us PCOS ladies get any benefits from those sterilization measures?!

Sorry it's so long, and all over the map, pregnancy has been makin' me a bit loopy (no complaints here!)

Any advise welcome!

(I should add MET never did anything for me, and I can't handle the b/c pill to help regulate me either)

I have no idea. Sorry. Sounds like something you should talk to your dr about. Good luck!

PCOS is a result of insulin resistance. Removing the ovaries won't change the fact that you have too much insulin in your system. Removing the ovaries will remedy the annoying cyst problem, but you won't get rid of the PCOS simply by sterilizing yourself. It'll rear it's ugly head in a different form, be it type 2 diabetes or heart disease or some other annoying symptom like male pattern baldness or unwanted hair. Keeping the insulin in check will help reverse the common annoyances of PCOS.

I'd run this by your dr as well. It's a major decision, so you should definitely discuss this with your dr to find out everything you can about making such a huge step.

Welcome back. I agree with Mamaof3babies - you need to speak in depth with your dr about it.
