Went to the doctor, wasn't officially diagnosed. Gave me paperwork for blood tests and transvaginal u/s. So I went to the the u/s and I had asked her during, if she could see 'anything'. I didn't want any detailed answer, but all she said was "I can't tell you anything." Which was fine, I understand about the legalities of it. The part that alarmed me, was whenever I was leaving, she said "Goodbye, I hope you get well and everything works out." Which I took with a grain of salt, but once I got in the car I started thinking about what she said, and I thought it was strange. Also, they wouldn't let me see the screen as they were doing the u/s. So I don't know what to think, and my docs appointment isn't for another month. I am a little worried, any advice would be helpful.
hey there. I am new to this as well. I went to the RE yest and was told I have polycycstic ovaries but he had to do some other tests to see if I had the actual syndome. So I am kind of here in limbo just waiting to see what is going on.
i wouldnt get worried about what she said. She probly just meant what ever the reason you were there for.
i had a transvaginal ultrasound in may. i didn't ask to see the screen, or ask what they saw (i was too worried). but when they finished, they told me that they saw nothing abnormal and i probably don't have PCOS (my actual doctor told me last week that i actually do, i just barely have any cysts).
so i don't know. i mean, they didn't show me the screen or tell me how many there were... but she did give me the info i needed. and she also told me that they needed to examine it a little more anyway and process some of the details- maybe they just want all the facts before telling you anything?
she probably didn't mean anything by the "hope you get better" thing. i mean, obviously you're having some kind of health issue if you're getting an u/s, so she probably just meant that she hopes you get better from whatever it is. my dr said "good luck" when i was leaving, and i didn't think anything of it.
anyway, it's out of your hands for the next month, so try not to worry about it until you meet with your doctor.
I agree tht the tech probably meant nothing by her remark!! I hope everything is ok! Maybe u could call ur Dr and tell them u are worried about the results. I am sure they would tell u!! *HUGS*

Try not to worry until you get your results. You can drive yourself crazy that way!!
I'm sure it will be fine! Keep us posted!
Oh and by the way WELCOME! The ladies are great here and you will get lots of support!
I had a very similar experience and basically treated my situation the same. However, my tech said he thought he did see some cysts. I was actually very relieved becaue my MD had said a couple months before that he thought I might have PCOS and his plan was to start me on metformin.
Anyway, short background, I'm an RN and had a terrible time dealing with the time constraints. I deal with doctors on a daily basis, but when it came to me being the patient, I felt like I lost my total capacity of thinking clearly. Now if I see or read something pertaining to my treatment, I call and question my doctor's opinion.
Suggestion: use this website as a resource and take your arsenal of questions with you when you next see your doctor (get your moneys worth. he, he, he). And......don't feel bad calling whenever you'd like to ask questions.
Hi! and welcome to this amazing group!
I wouldn't worry everytime I go in the techs always say something to that effect I had a u/s of my thyroid and the tech said good luck and hope everthing is o.k to me I was totally freaked out, and if you are really concerned and feel uneasy you can call the docs and let them know you need to know the results. they have to tell you either way. i'm sure if it was anything bad they would call you and schedule you to come in. good luck keep positive

I wouldn't worry too much about what the tech said. Mine said something similar and when I was chatting with my doc about it she said it was probably because of the diagnosis on the sheet for the u/s order. She put down pelvic pain as the reason for the u/s even though I had none - but she said that insurance was more likely to pay for it that way. So the techs spent the entire u/s being extra gentle with me because they thought every little move they made was causing me pain.
