I made my own. That way I knew I could follow it. I called it the Modified Mandie Diet. It was kind of a mixture of South beach and weight watchers. I just made up a menu of foods that I liked that are good/healthy and that is what I ate. HTH

weight watchers works for me. been following the plan for a week and have already lost 5lbs without doing any dreaded excercise and can still eat some not so healthy things as long as they are within my points range for that day. it works best for me and is really flexible and i do not have to deprive myself of anything either
I did Slim-fast, where u drink a shake (or meal bar) for breakfast, drink one for lunch with like 250 cals of your fave foods, and eat a healthy dinner. You also get snacks between all of your meals (fruits, veggies, or slim fast snack bars). I lost about 10lbs in 2 months of doing this.

I don't know how good slim-fast id for you though. I've heard some bad things about it, but I actually liked it. You also get to use their website for free and it gives you meal plans and workout plans for each day of the week.

I am keeping a food journal on FitDay. I have read in several places over the years that people who keep food journal lose more weight. I think it works because it shows me where I over ate and that "one little treat" really does throw the carbs, caloris and fat way out of whack. It keeps me honest!
I personally don't believe in low carb dieting or diets that exclude any food group. I have designed my own plan. I keep my total carbs 55% of calories, pretein 25%, and fat at 20% or as close as possible. I make sure that that balance is kept as close as possible at each meal so that my glucose does not rise too quickly. I don't allow myself to skip meals. I make sure that the carbs are complex carbs so I stay away from white bread, sugar, white rice and other refined or processed foods.
So far I have lost 5 pounds in three weeks. Hopefully, I will continue to lose at a reasonable pace. Good luck finding what works for you.

It's not just about diet. Or finding a diet that "works." If you keep looking for "diet" that works you're going to be a frustrated gal for ever. They all work to some degree depending on how messed up your insulin resistance is but just doing the diet thing is going to do jack for you long term.
The Trifecta of Awesomeness
SLEEP SCHEDULE + EXERCISE (strength training and cardio... 300 minutes a week) + GOOD NUTRITION (whole foods, perimeter of the grocery store kind of thing, lots of veggies and with a calorie deficit) = Fat loss and Improved Health
In Defense of Food (book on the importance of high quality food, the enjoyment of being an eater and 10 rules for eating that'll help you be healthy in body, mind and soul). From here, there are a variety of diets you could try (Protein Power, Paleo, Atkins, South Beach, Mediterranian, Zone... whatever... but the 10 rules will apply to all of them)
Exercise... Now, here the options are limitless. BeachBody has some fantabulous programs like Slim in Six, CheLEAN Extreme, P90, P90X and Insanity that can be done easily on your own home. You can also join a gym. My suggestion is to find a CrossFit gym (on the left hand side bar, there is a list of affiliate gyms by country and state) and go to it regularly. They're accepting of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels and generally boast decent coaching and a great, supportive community environment.
Sorry I can't give you an easy answer. I don't think there is one. From my experience, it's a process. But getting all three things working for you (sleep, diet and exercise) is what makes the most difference. Ask anyone who's successfully managing their PCOS and you're going to find they didn't find a magic diet. Instead, they changed how they live in some very fundamental ways.

I have been reading a book called "Fertility Foods" by Jeremy Groll, MD. It says to keep the grams of complex carbs equal to the grams of protien in EVERY meal and snack. Avoid high GI foods, and eat a moderate amount of fat. And, eat 5 times a day. This is not easy, though!
weight watchers works really well!!
its great to go to meetings and i lost 47 pounds in 8 months.
need to stick to points and try not to eat many carbs
i did this last year before i got married , stop in september and gained 14 pounds at christmas. (love mince pies)
not been on a diet this year , but tryed to stay away from carbs. lost 5 pounds and now staying around there.
good luck
remember just find some thing that woorks for you and stick to it.

South Beach has been working great for me. I started 6 weeks ago and I've lost about 15 lbs so far. I followed the strict first phase for two weeks to get over my carb/sugar cravings and now i follow it more loosely, using the food lists and recipes has my guide. The recipes are great!!! I love the food and so does my boyfriend but the main thing is that the diet really is just a good way to help you develop healthy eating habits above all else, which is why I love it. It not something that you "stop" and then gain the weight again, IF you stick to the principles that you've learned regarding mutiple smaller meals a day, lots of protein and fiber, watching sugars - even in things that we think are healthy like carrots, pineapples and watermelon.
