Need suggestions for Houston Drs. I have been seeing Dr. Allon here in houston for the past year and a half, and while I feel he is knowledgeable about PCOS, I have had some issues with his staff. Specifically with them billing my insurance incorrectly multiple times. Also, I always feel pressured to buy lots of supplements and stuff like that.
I am 24, single, and not even close to be ttc unfortunately so I am just looking for a RE to treat the PCOS for its own sake. Prefer a doctor that is very proactive in treatment, personable, and non judgemental.
I could also use suggestions for gyns. I have had my last two yearly's at Dr. Allon's office with his practioner, which is convenient but I would like to find a good gyn separate from my RE. Although one that is familiar with PCOS. Prefer a female gyn, don't really care on the RE. I live downtown so anything inside the loop is pretty easy.
I have been to several drs in the past that had little more than a passing knoweldege of PCOS and weren't really willing to do much more than give me the pill and tell me to diet and excercise since I was not ttc. I wish I, and my parents, had been more aggressive when I was 15 and 200 lbs instead of settling and letting myself get up to 300 lbs. I'm sure I'm not the only person on here with this type of experience. |
