resumee:
dx 2002-->pcos-->BCP since i changed gyno and went to this new one that is also an endo in feb-->had blood test-->went today for an appointment:
my labs showed i am officially IR and she just said to me: you need to lose 20lbs by december and you'll have your regular AF back (like i'd ever had them regular LOL). full stop. period. not even a word more, not an inch of support, not only a bit of motivation... even if i clearly mentioned my previous eating disorders..
believe me i am fully satisfied of how she chose to manage my pcos (even if she didnt mentioned metformin or similar) but i could easily had the same response from a robot..
thing is i need to be told i am able to do it.. i know that lot of you have lost more and more than 20lbs but i am so scared to fall again in the tricky spyral of binge eating/bulimia because i cant control myself.. cant stop to feel guilty (even if i dont really know about what) like all this is my fault and if i was more clever bla bla bla..
and by the way i have to be focused because i have my bellydance recital tonight and i just cant concentrate!!!!!!!!!
thank God for SoulCysters and for the support i can find here..

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with your gyno. You can do it, and you can do it without the disordered eating.
You're doing great at taking care of yourself with your dancing and other exercise!
Don't let your doctor get you down!
Best,
Tori

If you are going to lose weight, do so slowly by cutting carbs and exercising. It is way more important that you keep you eating habits healthy than losing 20 lbs, that is not much excess weight anyway. Also, if you are IR you should be getting metformin or something like that to help with the IR, losing weight may not automatically clear up your IR symptoms.

I have felt the same way. I am in the situation right now, and it kinda seems like "easy for them to say." One thing I was told by my primary doctor that the gyno did not mention is that eating is the most important...you can exercise for hours and if you are eating bad..still won't change anything. What I have been doing is eating better and exercising when I can but not getting stressed about it. Many of us on this site are on same "boat" and if you have any questions or start to get stressed..take a few minutes to post a message...I know this place has helped me.
I am down to 124 Ibs and I still have IR and no sign of AF after 8 months of being off the pill. I would question her theory on this. Am I supposed to lose more weight? I couldn't possibly eat less or different and not end up with malnutrition.
Has anyone actually been "cured" after losing the weight? Please post cuz we need some encouragement! Haha.
we will see what will happen... today has been the first day of Ir managment with diet and exercise (since yesterday was my birthday i wasn' really able and ready to sart it ealier LOL)..
thanks for your support im not feelilg alone anymore
