Default Need your experinced opinon -

Hi,
I am a newbie to Metformin and need your advice.

When in your cycle did you start taking Met./Glucophage? I am taking Progesterone right now to jump start AF. My endo doctor just prescribed Met. Do I wait until after I get AF to start taking Met.? I am sure my doctor told me the sequence but as my Gyn/OB wants me to take clomid for LP defect this next cycle, I got confused in all the various drug conversations.

I have a call into my doctor and I am sure she will respond on Monday but thought that maybe some of you may have started under similar circumstances and could advise as well.

Thank you!

I had the same question when I started a month ago. I waited until I finished AF then I started the MET. My doctor told me I didn't have to, I could have started anytime, but I chose to do it this way so I could track it.

Good luck!

Linda

I started the Met right away, the doc gave no indication that I needed to wait till af was come and gone (could have been waiting for years!).

I got AF 29 days after my last provera induced AF. Unfortuantely the cycles keep growing longer (29, 36, 47, and now 61 days apart)

Thanks ladies!!

I called the pharmacist today and she said I could start anytime too. As I am also suppose to start taking Clomid on Cd 3, so I think I will go ahead and start the Met. tomorrow - enjoy one last weekend without it! Hopefully, it will not take too long to work up to 1500 mg and get my body adjusted and over the side effects. They do not sound too pleasant! I can't beliive your cycles got longer - isn't the opposite suppose to happen?

Good luck to both of you too!
