needing a new OB who speacializes in PCOS My current OB diagnosed me with PCOS a year and a half ago. My sister was also not too long after. Her OB had her get the pelvic ultrasound done my did not. When I requested it to get done she told me "I know you have it. You really don't need to get the ultrasound done" After I told her that my sister was diagnosed with it and it was ruled out because she did not have cysts and I wanted it done she still refused and said that I have all the signs of PCOS and I do not need it. My internal medicine doctor said if I wanted it done that she would order it for me. She did and yes it did confirm with me and settled me that I did definately have it. I just got back from seeing her, I am overweight and have high blood pressure and she said that she would like to see my weight come down but never gave me a goal to meet. She basically told me that I have to lose weight. I told her that I have been struggling with my weight since I was the age of 14 and I lose it just to gain it back. I have been working my butt off to lose the weight and today I learned that I am 328 when last week I weighed myself and I was 315. I have been eating right and working out and she said that for her to start me on clomid or metformin that I need to lose weight and she needs to see it come down.
My thoughts was that she was basically telling a dead battery to start the car.I understand the importance of losing weight and being healthy to have a healthy pregnancy but I need a doctor that is more understanding and willing to work with me rather than just telling me that I need to go and see a nutritionist and lose the weight but not give me a goal to work towards. So anyone have any advice or know of any doctors who specialize in PCOS women and know what they are talking about in Milwaukee? I am stressed! |
