Hi all,

this is the tenth day of my period now, and I just don't know what is causing this. My cycles are pretty long (up to 40 days) and for the last year or so I've had mid-cycle spotting, some of which was like a mini-period again. In the fall I had a monster period where I just soaked through pad after pad and had real clots come out (TMI, sorry). Nothing has been 'normal'.

So I finally went to see my gynocologist. He did an u/s and said while there are no tumors or fibroids the lining is quite thick. He suggested to wait three months to see if the spotting would stop and if it didn't to have a D&C. That was two months ago and now I'm stuck with this never-ending period. It started out quite light and I was 'done' after four days. Then it started all over. WTH???

I don't have any pelvic pain. I am on Metformin and just had my hormones tested - all perfectly where they should be.

So what in the world is causing this??? Is the D&C really the way to go? What other options are there?

Any help, advice and stories are greatly appreciated!
