Default The never ending period....should I be concerned?

I had a natural cycle last cycle...don't know for sure if I ovulated, but since it was only 40 days and I had post-O symptoms about a week before AF arrived, I think I did. I normally spot a day or two before AF shows properly...I started spotting on CD38. By CD41, it was a proper AF (so cd 1). Pre-PCOS I had 32 day cycles with 7 day af always starting super heavy for 2 days, then lighter and lighter until I was spotting on the 7th day. Post-PCOS my cycles have only been 5-6 days (weird right?!). Well, I started this cycle with light af, then 3 days heavy, then medium then light, then spotting, and now (cd8) it seems AF is starting up again! Yesterday I didn't need to use anything because it wasn't going past slight smear on tp, now I'm back to needing something. Also strange, I normally have crippling AF cramps...I did not get 1 af cramp this time. And it's been a lot less clotty than normal. The blood is thin and a different colour (maroon rather than deep red most of the time...so closer to a brown/red). Should I be concerned? Any ideas what's happened? Cheers ladies.

May be different, but I had a never-ending period that lasted over 80 days..

Not only was it extremely annoying to have your period for that long, I also developed hyperplasia of the uterus and had to take birth control pills for a year to get it back to normal!

You should go see the doc if it doesnt stop.

I know the feeling!! From February through August of this year, I had periods that were heavy beyond belief, for 3 weeks at a time, and a week or so of spotting in between. It was very tiring and very annoying. I had some of the same things happen, where one day it would seem like it was stopping and the next day, WHAM! it was heavy again!

I went to my family doctor in June, and he referred me to a Reproductive Endocrinologist. I went through a series of tests and found that I had simple hyperplasia without atypia. So, at the end of August, I had a D&C. I did not start on my own after the D&C, so I had to take Provera to bring it on...but I didn't bleed for 10 weeks!! That was the best 10 weeks of the year!!!

Now, I've taken 2 rounds of Clomid - one round on days 3-7 of my cycles at 50mg and the second round on days 16-20 (pretending it was days 3-7) at 100mg...and I received my HCG shot on Sunday!!! Hoping the baby dust is good to me!

Abbie, I would take Annalei's advice and see a doctor if it does not stop.

Thanks ladies. It seems to be stopping again (fingers crossed!), so that'll be 12 days total including spotting days. Erg... I'm seeing my RE in 2 days, so hopefully she'll be able to figure it out.
