hey my name is stacey and i live in austraila. i found out i had pcos 4 days before christmas so im still new to all of this. i had never even heard of anything like this before.
i got engaged a year ago and am getting married january 2006 and we were hoping to start a family asap. not now though.

2 1/2 years ago i had a contreception rod called implanon placed in my arm to stop me falling preg. well this caused me to not have my periods therefore i developed pcos. well that's what my doc said anyway. im still waiting to see a specialist and still have that rod in my arm.

i feel like my doctor isnt telling me enough information so i decided to do some looking around and came across this site. after reading alot of the messages you are all in the same boat as me.

i have weight gain and acne all over my arms. (how nice that will look in wedding photos) that is how i found out i had it.

Hi Stacey,
Glad to hear from you. I know how frustrating it is, and how confusing it is when you first get diagnosed. I'm still not having the best time. The endocrinologist I first went to wasn't gonna give me medication at first, and I only had it officially confirmed two months ago that I had PCOS for sure. I saw the endocrinologist in April! I was hoping it would all be sorted out before I graduated but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. I'm not very patient...

I hope everything works out for you and that you get sorted out before your wedding. DO NOT let yourself dwell on it too much though, I made that mistake and now it's an obsession! The important thing to remember is that it is controllable and it'll all work out! Good luck with everything!
