Default New..

Hi all..New here & just diagnosed w/ PCOS.Dont know the full details,as my DR couldnt get into it over the phone.Have an app next week..I do have a question tho,how will PCOS interfere w/ trying to conceive? I know I may have to go on BC but I have liver problems and certain BC worsens liver problems,

Hi and welcome. I think you should write down all problems you have before and after your periods. and you doctor may take you off BC because the pill just hides what's really going on. You are lucky they caught it before you have dieabetes. Trying to concieve is hard because your body does not ovulate like it should , I know that once I went 6 months without ovulating and some women are now ovulating for their first ime. You have something that is more common than you think and many women are living with it just fine. This site will be there for you and feel free to ask anything . also there are many links to get more info on your own.Good luck and welcome

CHeck out all the boards on here!

the bad news is that Pcos interferes w/ trying to conceive. The good news is that is lots of info out there and ways to help you get pregnant! I had trouble trying to conceive due to pcos and i now have a 15 month old daughter!

so there is lots of hope! dont you worry! the good thing is that you KNOW you have pcos!

welcome! cant wait to read your announcement that you are pregnant (smile!).

Welcome to SC! Unfortunately PCOS can interfere with ttc, but hopefully with a good doctor and all of us here on SC it won't be that long. Good luck!

Smile Hey there

Hey, I am about your age too - I'm 21 and Irish, which I presume you must be too....are you living in NY or were you born there too? Anyway, it's definitely best to have all your queries and thoughs written down so you can discuss everything with your doctor. You've been diagnosed early, you're still young so you have every reason to be positive! What are your main symptoms? Mine are v irregular periods, excess hair and acne but things are a lot more under sontrol now thankfully. I hope that someday I too can have little babies; not right now though. I wish you every happiness and try not to let this become too much worry for you. Take care and email me whenever, my address is in my profile, Nolly (((hugs)))

Just wanted to welcome you to SC! As others mentioned before, PCOS most definitely impairs getting pregnant, but there is so much help out there! I just did my first round of Clomid, and ovulated for the first time in my whole life over the weekend! There is hope! Take care, good luck, and see you around!

to SoulCysters!

I would recommend educating yourself on PCOS and all that goes along with it... There are some great articles on the Research Articles 4 PCOS section!

Another really good reference for you and your doctor... Medifocus Guide to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Best wishes and see you around the boards!

Hey..Im not 100% Irish,50 % Irish & 50% German & yes I was born in NY & have lived here all my life(unfortunatly)
Anyway my main sympton is irregular periods.I am not overweight(5'2 115),dont have acne,no excessive hair etc etc..Actually for the past 3 months my periods have been coming every month!!..Is that normal w/ pcos or are the irregular periods ALWAYS irregular? Im new to this so I dont know alot..

Thank you everyone for replying..I can see this board has many nice women & helpful information.I am not trying to get pregnant at this moment as I am still only 23 lol..However,I want kids more than anything(have had names picked for the past 9 yrs!! & this diagnosis just scared me,but I will find out more at my app next week & let everyone know what happens

Well I w/ to my GYN app and she told me that I produce too much Testosterone & that my LSH,FSH,prolactin & estradiol results indicate PCOS.And she also said that I *might* have cysts, correct me if im wrong but wouldnt she send me for a sonogram to check & not assume?
She said there isnt really much they can do w/ this condition except put me on the pill to regulate my periods.Im afraid there is much more info I should know but dont
