Question New

Well, I was diagnosed, I guess, a couple months ago. I guess I don't know if I completely believe it. I had, had two miscarriages in a matter of 4 months and I have put on weight of 60 pounds in just under a year and keep gaining with no explanation. Also, it was found that I had three cysts on my right ovary and two on my left, but blood work was completely normal. Does that mean I still have PCOS. Anyway, my gyno decided to try me on Metformin. I have to say, I have not been completely faithful in taking it because I am telling myself that I don't have that. Although the miscarriages are a little weird. I have had three children in the past. My last one was in 2000. I am newly married in June 2006 and so the miscarriages I suffered with my new husband. I am just a bit confused I guess. I started on the Metformin this morning. Hoping some sense will come of all this soon. I also feel pretty crappy most of the time. Just like I am out of gas most of the time. Among other problems. I never felt this way up until a year ago. Oh, and my periods are pretty regular. They are heavy though...quite heavy..more so than they were a year or two ago. As a teenager, I used to have bad cramps to the point that I would throw up, not so much now, but the cramping has become worse than previous years.

Any help or advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome!!
I had a hard time really believing the dx too. I have regular period, in my opinion, they're just 35-40 days apart. But after a second opinion by the endo, I finally had to face the fact that I do indeed have this.

I start spotting about the 19th day into cycle and then have a period on 21st day and then stop after three days. They are not necessarily the periods I have been used to for years. I used to have light periods that lasted 7 days and light cramping. Now its heavy period with some medium to hard cramping at times. The symptoms I have are weight gain, occasional acne (I used to have completely clear skin), the two miscarriages, the ultrasound findings of cysts on ovaries. My blood work was normal, although I did not have a fasting glucose done. I am tired all the time. My joints ache. Sometimes I feel dizzy. For being 34, I have a lot more aches and pains then I think I should. This all came on over a years time. I just don't feel like myself. I had an episode where my blood pressure dropped so low that I was taken to the hospital...(no reason for that was ever found). Have not had that happen since that time. The list goes on and on, but no labs come back abnormal. It is quite frustrating.
