My Mood: Points: 524.84 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 524.84 | New! Hello Everyone,
I am new and happy to find you all! My name is Heather, I am 33 years old, happily married with 4 children. I have been fighting with PCOS for 19 years(wow, that makes me feel old) and have so much experience I would be happy to share with you all. I have battled with the weight, hair, IF, depression, 4 MC, medical problems, AND triplets! After having my first child with no IF problems I decided after 2 years I would like another baby. We tried and tried for 3 years, I had 4 MC and an ectopic pregnancy. After struggling with IF, I decided to see a specialist. I did 2 cycles of gonal-f and 2 IUI's. The 2nd one obviously took....3 heartbeats later! This was a true blessing My IF days were days that will never be forgotten, they were very painful and I am so grateful for my healthy children.
I did have EA after the birth of the triplets. This was my doctors short cut for a hysterectomy. I also had my left ovary removed b/c of all the painful cysts.
I battle everyday with the emotions, weight ( I weighed 115 before my 1st child and now 170),and hair growth. I am SO tired of seeing doctors that are not familiar with PCOS and then tell you that you are overweight! I have tried about everything to loose weight, my biggest battle. I, also have dealt with quite a few surgeries due to medical condition. I have had my gall bladder, appendix, L tuble and ovary removed, a hernia, a lipoma, and the list goes on. I have a fatty liver, after the Dr. saw the report she asked me if i drank alcohol. She explained that my liver looks like an alcoholics (cirrosis). I maybe drink 1 bottle of wine a year!
However, through the negatives of PCOS there are positives. I surround mself around genuine friends and family. I make sure everyone is educated with this disorder so they can understand me! Through your attitude you can reach your goal...I thought I would never get pregnant and carry to term and I did! Two things that got me through the dark days were, I put things in the man up aboves hands and I accepted that things happendfor certain reasons.
I am happy to offer any help to anyone suffering, especially with pregnancy. I am so excited to find guidance and support on dealing with PCOS. I look forward to building relationships with others facing PCOS. There are days that you really feel alone, I cannot tell you how many looks I get when I say I have PCOS. The response, PCO..what? It's really sad when the medical field has to ask you, "What is PCOS"!
Blessings
