Been to my psych apt today and my gyn. My psych has now put me on Effexor, got to discontinue citalopram from today and start taking this new one in a couple of days. Ooh err.
To me when i tell the SHO about the link with PCOS and depression they dont take it into consideration. Its also frustrating that you see different SHO every few months.
To help with sleep problems, she recomended taking a banana as it is an anti depressant.

The banana thing is actually a good recommendation. The potassium relaxes the muscles and makes it easier to sleep. So does magnesium. I take 500 mg before bed and notice a huge difference when I forget.
A lot of doctors don't think about how things are linked, they just treat your symptoms. It is a rare find that will even bother figuring out why you have depression, instead of just putting you on meds. Good luck, and take care.
