HI all,
I wanted to share my story, I am so proud of my husband and I, especially my husband I've grown up in church, I have always believed in God, I just didn't read his word or apply it to my life until last year. Part of that is I met my husband, who was an Atheist at the time that I met him. I was so worried for years about our children, would we take them to church, etc. I went through a drug addiction last year and a miraculous thing happened! I was in a treatment facility for an overdose, was there for about 4 days. On the third day my husband and I were afraid they were going to keep me longer and that I would lose my job. My husband decided to try praying, and he got his prayer, I was out the next day! Ever since then we both read the Bible together, and pray together.

Glad to hear you two are reading the Bible together. There are a lot of ladies on this board that like to discuss Bible verses, so if you ever have any questions or comments, don't be shy about posting them
not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8 I believe it! One of my most favorite women in the Bible is Mary Magdolin. She wasn't worthy to follow Christ, to be around Him, to touch Him. Yet He loved her, He touched Her life. The Bible tells us that God has no need for those who don't need Him. Some of the most open people were prostitutes, tax collectors, those who've had sex out of marriage or who've cheated on their spouses....and yet Jesus forgave them and spent time with them. He healed their hearts, minds & bodies, not to mention their souls. If he did those things back then...I can believe that pray helped you! Isn't it amazing that we are worthy of such Love when we're not worthy at all? Isn't Grace just wonderful? You both are so special to Him and Jesus loves you both so much that He gave His life for you so that you could be free to live in His Fathers Kingdom forever where there are many rooms!
I'm proud of you both too! Now that you read the Bible together, it may be time to find a church to fellowship in with likeminded people. As you well know, the world is so full of destruction and evil....drugs, violence, everything that doesn't line up with the word of God. The reason we Go to church is "not to give money every week....though that has a meaning in itself....." Its to befriend others with the same mind that Jesus died so that we could live. That we are to follow Gods laws....which are the "ten commandments", hold each other accountable, and Learn Gods teachings through His Bible . When we read His word each day, start our day out with prayer together, and reserve the sabbath as God teaches, We just can't go Wrong. We are put on this earth...our total purpose here on this earth....is to Glorify God. How do we do this? Well, to find out.....we must pray....God will give direction for each individual, but one way is to allow Him to use you for the Glory of His Kingdom. Yes! He will use you to bring someone else to Christ. Thats what its all about.
So I'm proud of the both of you too! Keep up the good work.....and as Jesus told my favorite woman in the Bible "Mary Magdolin" ..."Go and Sin no More". Now I love that because I think to myself...Jesus...how do I go and sin no more if I'm a sinner?? I'm not perfect.....Well, The idea is, we are to pray, read the Bible, and seek God everyday., We're not to seek perfection, we're not going to not sin again or not make mistakes....but we need to try to not make the same mistakes. If we do, we just pray to Him, and ask Him for forgiveness, and direction and help until we see Victory! So Lets all Go & Sin no More!

I'm so happy to welcome you here! That's terrific about your hubby. I'm so happy for your both that you've brought religion into your lives.
My hubby became a Catholic last year at Easter. He went through the RCIA program at our church. He was raised to be an atheist, but he could never agree with what his family believed (or DIDN'T believe I should say). As a firefighter/EMT, it was just even more pressure to admit a belief in God as he saw situations where "it's just his/her time" doesn't cut it and saw too many miracles to deny it any longer.
It was losing my grandmother that pushed ME towards the church again (as I'd fallen away for quite a while) and that helped push my husband towards admitting what he'd believed for quite some time.
It's really great to meet with people like you who are a witness to our Lord.
God bless, sweetie!
