I just got diagnosed with PCOS in april. while i didn't have the problems that a lot of people have (sever acne, abnormal hair growth) i do have a serious problem with my weight and have not been able to lose any weight
it wasn't apparent that i had PCOS until i stopped taking birth control and had no periods. now that i look back on the situation and my insane weight gain over the last 3 years and the inability to control it, i do believe that that problem was the sign that i had PCOS
since january, i have been exercising regularly (5xs a week along with walking about a mile to work every AM) and watching what i eat but the scale has not changed at all. if anything i
gained 11lbs since really strapping down and working hard at losing weight. the upside is i have lost inches but my doctor is dead set on seeing a number change which no matter what i do i can't seem to provide. unfortunately, none of my doctors (gyn and regular doc) seem to have answers on what can be done next
they claim my blood work is fine (not a diabetic, don't have high levels of insulin in the blood) and that i should be able to lose weight by just showing more self control
honestly i think i have been showing a ton of self control. i pretty much make a note of everything i eat, drink water, eat veggies/fruit, exercise diligently, cut down on the white processed carbs a lot and pretty much eliminated all junk food and sugary drinks and i feel like i am having no success.
anyway i hope joining this board will help me be successful in my weight loss journey
