New to board: PCOS and cycles question Hello ladies. I am new to this forum. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS by my RE. When I was 19 years old I had my first cyst removed via surgery and since then I've had two other surgeries to remove cysts. I'm 23 now. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 1.5 years now. We had our initial consult with our RE back in June and the ultrasound at that appointment revealed another large cyst. Prior to my u/s my RE said she thought it sounded like I had PCOS but when the tech performed the u/s, she said she didn't think my ovaries looked "PCOSish at all".
I went back to the RE 3 weeks later to see if my cyst was gone and it was. But at that time, a different tech said she was certain I had PCOS and was shocked that I hadn't been diagnosed before. I don't really doubt that I have PCOS but I'm a little confused. Every single person I've talked to with PCOS and all of the research that I've done says that people with PCOS have extremely irregular periods and cycles. I'm not this way at all. The only time my cycles are ever off is when I have a large cyst. Other than that, right on time, last 4 days...same thing every month.
So, my question is, does anyone else have super regular cycles with PCOS? I have a video conference with my RE in a few weeks and I plan to talk to her about this...I haven't had a chance yet because we've been dealing with a whole handful of other infertility related issues lately.
Thanks for your help ladies. I really appreciate all of the insight I can get! |
