Hi,

I have already posted a few times, so I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Val, and I have had signs of PCOS since 11 or 12yo. Actually, my current doc told me the signs were there since I started growing boobs at 7yo, but no one had a clue what it is that was causing my early early puberty.

I am now 34yo, dx'd in 1998, and hate my PCOS alot of the time. It was only recently that I finally came to grips, and started changing my life. Can you say a 10 year denial?

My endo has me on 2000mg of Met all of the time. I was originally put on it in 1998, at a much lower dose of course. I just started loosing my hair, so that is depressing, but I am a headcovering Mama anyway, and the men I live with don't seem to notice! LOL I do have some other typical symptoms, but I try not to even think about them unless I truly have to.

DH and I are finally trying to conceive, and have a wonderful son via domestic infant adoption. I have recently become a role model for two 20-something women in my office. Well, I say role model, they just call me the "older lady" with PCOS that has all the answers!! OLDER LADY, WTH!? Okay, I feel like I am still in my early 20s, hmph! LOL So, they deemed me the PCOS Diva. I would be just fine with role model, but the other one is growing on me.

Oh, I stick to a modified paleo-diet, but live for the days when I cheat with a package of Paul Newman organic dark chocolate/PB cups!! Wishing all of you well, no matter what part of this PCOS journey (ok rollercoaster) you may be on .
