Default NEW buckwheat recipes-pasta! and crepes

Hi All,
I just received my 4lb bag of farinetta from MinnDak. I have been faithfully eating 1/2 c. every day. I notice more energy, less daily hunger, and elevated mood. I will update you as I continue to take it.

So far, I have made crepes, and home made pasta.

The crepes are actually tastier when they cool down. They are simple, hardly any extra calories added. As long as you can get used to the taste (which after about a week is fine) they are quick and easy.

Crepes:
1/2 c. buckwheat farinetta
3/4 c. milk (or lactaid)
1 egg.
beat the mixture. Heat stovetop to medium (NO HIGHER). spray a skillet with cooking spray, and pour mixture evenly onto skillet. cook until bubbles stop forming, then turn over. let cool. eat plain, or even throw some hummus on top.

The other recipe that I tried, was Buckwheat Pasta. These were tasty, especially when I coupled it with some nice Home Made Chicken Cacciatore.
If you want the link for the recipe, email me. They won't let me post it yet, because I havent done 15 posts. BUt, you can google buckwheat pasta, and the letters "FX". Then, you will see the recipe.

I believe the Buckwheat Farinetta is a little heavier than the flour that they use,but it still comes out just fine. It really does not take a lot of time.

I think the main thing to note is that you should not try to compare the buckwheat pasta to real pasta. Of course it will taste different. its buckwheat. But its good, and its satisfying, and that's what I like about it.

Incidentally, this person also has a recipe for Buckwheat Torta.

So, thats what I've tried. I also plan to try to make some tortillas for burritos, and I also want to try to make some crackers. You can find a recipe for this by googling buckwheat and "food down under".

Sorry I can't provide the links. I don't have enough time to do 15 posts, wanted to spread the word faster!

If anyone else is using buckwheat, I'd love to hear your results. I will keep you all posted on my progress! Good Luck!

I have a new recipe, Buckwheat Foccacia Bread. Its actually pretty good, especially with hummus:

2 cups buckwheat farinetta
1/3 c. water
1/2 c. olive oil
5 eggs
1/2 T baking soda
fresh rosemary
1/2 cup diced kalamata olives
1/2 parmesan/romano grated cheese

Mix wet, mix dry. mix together. spread into 9X11 pyrex or other rectangular pan. bake for 30 minutes at 350-375. cut into 8 squares. 2 squares per day will give you the right amount of buckwheat. VERY filling. good with hummus. makes a nice afternoon snack.

All, update:
Since starting 1/2 cup of buckwheat farinetta every day, through crepes, or bread, I have gotten a period, on time, since October. That is 5 months of on time menstruation. I do not think I have had on time periods...ever. I am very pleased with the results, and will definitely continue with the flour!
Updates to the crepe recipe: The crepe is excellent with fruits on top, either heated up, with a little cool whip, or cold. Or, you can put 2 T of choc. chips inside the batter for a little chocolate fix.
I also made the bread listed above, with dried fruit, splenda, and lots of cinnamon, and that is really great as well. I swapped out half of the oil, for a banana, and there was no change to taste. I really reccommend this route to anyone before meds. It's a healthy alternative, you do not have to be dependent on medication, and the farinetta has many other great benefits as well!
