I was ecstatic to find this message board. I'm so happy there's a support group for this.
Truth be told, I haven't been diagnosed, but I think I might have it.
I'll give a quick summary of my story...
I started on my period when I was about 13 years old. I had regular periods, mind you they were pretty heavy, but they were regular. Then, when I was 18 I started to skip a couple here and there. I thought nothing of it. Then I missed it for 4 months once. And then this year, I didn't get my period for 6 months. So I went and had a blood test and ultrasound.
My mom went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago, and she asked about my test results. my doctor said they've come in but that she couldn't dicsuss it with my mom (for legal reasons) and that she should brign me in. My mom asked if it was something serious, the doctor said it wasn't. She gave ym mother a print out and said, "Some girls get this, you can show it to your daughter." The print out is about PCOS.
So, she didn't say I have it, but tomorrow morning at 9am I'll be going to find out.
I'm just really scared right now. I believe that God has everythign planned for me, and so I'm trying not to worry.
So yeah, there's my story. I'll post here about how it goes tomorrow. But I must say, I'm quite worried.
Welcome! Well, you'll find out tomorrow hopefully but I know how the waiting goes. I have only been dx for a month and I remember the waiting was agonizing. But hopefully it'll all turn out well and at least it can be dealt with *hugs* good luck
Welcome! Sounds like your doc. thinks you have PCOS. The good news is that sometimes getting a diagnosis is the hardest part. The younger you start treatment, the easier it will be to control. Good luck and keep us updated.

Dx-2004 while ttc #2
Currently: 2000mg metformin
Not officially ttc, but not preventing!
I was just recently diagnosed with PCOS myself and I'm not going to lie, the news is a little depressing. However, it's good they found out while you were young so you can start getting treated and it will be easier to manage. There is tons of support at this website as well as very good information. <3 Good luck at the doctors!

Well, I had my appointment, and sure enough, I have PCOS. But, it's very mild. I have tiny cysts only on my right ovary. She said she was puzzled, because I'm otherwise really healthy, thank God. I'm actually close to underweight, but she said that mine might re-regulate itself. For the meanwhile she said she could do one of two things: birth control pills or progesterone (provera). I went with provera. So On June 30th I'm going to start taking provera. She said it should regulate my cycle. We'll see hwo things go.

Welcome to sc! Glad you at least know what's going on! When my doc told me about the possibilty last month, I got upset and he said... at least we'd know and it's something treatable! My outlook has gotten much brighter since then!

Bumping up my newbie thread to ask a question. *blush*
So, this is my 6th time taking Provera, and it's my 5th day since taking my last pill. AF is not here yet. =( I have LOTS of clear egg-white-ish discharge, sometimes with some pale brown or pink in it, but no AF yet. Has this happened to anyone before?
My first time taking Provera it took me 6 days after my last pill to get AF, but every other time I took it it took me maximum 3 days.
Ahh.. oh the worry. =/ Any and all replies would be awesome.
