I am sorry for asking this, probably again, but I am so LOST about the whole posting points, buying ribbons, etc. I have read the thread that explains all of that but am wondering their purpose, such as why you have to have so many postings to view links, pictures, have so many posts for receiving and sending IM's. If someone isn't completely annoyed with this question, I would be happy to find out because I am looking but can't find the answers to my questions.

This is to avoid spammers and trolls from signing up just to get to pictures and other more private parts of SC that belong to members. Only the real nutty ones would post 30+ times just to cause trouble, although I'm sure they're out there.

New and COMPLETELY confused
