Default new and confused..

Hello everyone, my name is Dee I am 23 from Australia..
and I might have PCOS... I am very confused... I am so lost with it all its not funny.

well last year I had some pelvic discomfort so I had an ultrasound done and it come back Polycystic Ovaries.
and my Dr told me. and he said it could cause fertility issues.. and that it was strange cause I was skinny.....
anyways I went and saw a Gyno and was told I couldn't have it due to getting periods... so then I thought okay fair enough.. and I got on with life.

but just recently I had the worst pain ever, at first I thought it was a UTI infection but then I could feel the cysts pulling or doing what ever they do, as i've experienced it all before a fair few times..
but this time it seemed sooo much more worse, the pain was so bad.

and then it stopped and then it started and then the other ovary started, wich was strange cause its usualy just one side.

so I had another scan and yet again, polycystic ovaries.

but then I have been told you can have Polycystic Ovaries and not have PCOS.

I am seeing my dr tomorrow to chat about my results.

I've also been seeing a Dietician because I gained about 11 kilos out of no where and its been soooo hard to lose.. a huge battle, I could pull my hair out how hard its been, if it as a year ago, it would have been fine. but this year its been horrible..

theres others stuff, but I feel I have gone on a bit too much..
Glad to see there is a forum for PCOS though, its great

Hi Dee
Welcome to SC! Sorry to hear that you're so confused. Did you have any blood tests done? Having cysts alone isn't enough to diagnose PCOS they usually do a blood test as well. I was diagnosed in June and my sister has just been diagnosed. I don't ovulate at all but she has no problem with that. It seems to present differently in everyone. I think you will find this site really helpful and hopefully get some answers to your ?'s. Good luck!

No I haven't had any blood tests, I was going to ask for one tomorrow as I really would like to know if I have pcos.
for the blood test they check for a hormone imbalance?

might explain some things i've experienced but been too ashamed to speak out about

well I got my results, wich as I knew, its Polycystic ovaries.
my dr said he doesn't think I have the syndrome, but just to watch my diet and such because it desn't mean it cant turn into it.. or something like that.
and I am also going on the pill to handle some of the side affects I have had...
like bad skin.. the cyst pains.

and when I want more children later on to come back for some treatment .
oh and in 3 months I'l be having another scan to see what my ovaries are like.
