I had an ultrasound the end of Feb and was diagnosed with PCOS. Just got all my BW back today, everything is in the normal range. Except the good cholesterol was low. I don't really have any symptoms of PCOS except infrequent periods. My doctor just would like to see me lose weight and she thinks that AF would return on a regular basis. I would of course like to lose weight for that and other reasons, but can not even figure out how/where to begin. The whole thing is very overwhelming, especially since all my ranges are normal. Do I have PCOS because I'm simply overweight??

When I was first diagnosed I didn’t have any symptoms of PCOS only irregular periods they would come between 3 -5 months, I was overweight at 154 pounds but nothing significant. Now my weight has slowly crept up and up until it jumped up by 44lbs and now I have lots and lots of symptoms hair loss, no periods, tired etc ....
I would recommend that you do start to lose some weight like your doctor said it may help, but I don’t think that you have PCOS just because your over weight I think that your weigh just adds to an underlying problem. Hope this helps you ??
Hmmm, i'm really not sure what to say except that women with pcos can have many different symptoms, some with much less or more than others. If you're concerned about whether you have it or not, i'd say call your dr or ask him to explain things more in depth to you when you go there again.
I would check out the five types of pcos and the stickies at the top of this forum for more info cause everyone is indeed different. Welcome to SC!
