Default New to Cycters, I think I'm dying!

Hi Everyone,

I'm 40 years old, I weight 250lbs, bad cholest 285, good cholest 30, severely anemic, on the verge of diabeties, extremely tired all the time, embarrassed about hair growing on my face, I have to shave everyday like a man, I had one daughter when I was 17 and a tubular Preg when I was 25 and I wasn't able to have anymore kids. I had a doctor tell me that I had PCOS when I was 28 and told me their was nothing he could do for me because I smoked and the only help for this was the pill. But what he didn't bother to tell me is the severity of letting it go and doing nothing about it. Now here I am, a walking stroke or heart attach waiting to happen. I've been so depressed about my weight for so many years. I wish the doctor would have told me all that this would cause. I thought it was nothing. I thought it was only causing hair growth and it was the reason I couldn't get pregnant. I had no idea that it could cause so much more. Thank god I moved to Florida and found an MD who really cared enough to tell me about it and refer me to an endocrinologist. I just hope its not too late and I can reverse the effects from this. I'm looking at Gastro Bypass does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Welcome to SC! No, bc pills are definitely not the only treatment. As a matter of fact, they make some of us worse. Read some of the posts on this board and you'll get a feel for the different therapies that people are trying. I think the main thing to do is to stay positive and be really agressive about getting treatment.

Good luck!
