New Cyster from WA

Hi, my name is Naomi and I'm 33 and from Perth, WA.

I was disgnosed with PCOS in late 2006, and although my life is happy and content, the TTC part of it is a nightmare.
Coming from a family with a sister and sister-in-law that have both fallen pregnant on schedule from when they started trying, and my mother and grandmothers, aunts etc all being extremely fertile, it's a struggle and so frustrating.
DH (36) and I have been TTC since before we were married, around the time I was diagnosed with PCOS.
I was on metformin for a couple of years and gain a ridiculous amount of weight.
I had lapband surgery in Feb and was told to wait 6 months until TTC again, so we started again in August this year (last month). I went to my local GP to enquire about Clomid and she sent me to the gyno from hell on Monday afternoon. Basically I still need to lose weight, there is no other alternative. I have lost 37kg to date since New Years Day 2009, but he was rude and arrogant and had me in tears with no hope. I went to a GP recommended by a rellie on tuesday night and low and behold - I came out with a clomid prescription. I start on Wed (23/9/09) the first course.

Your story is amazing. You lost 37kg that's brilliant. Congratulations!!

I can relate to nightmare gyno's! I had a lovely gyno who took me through my first medicated cycle, then up and left me (retiring to QLD is NOT a good enough excuse to leave me.. haha).

At my first consult my new gyno wanted to refer me to a lap band Dr. Anyway after telling him firmly that I eat right and exercise daily and that I wanted Clomid he gave me a prescription for 100mg and I was told yesterday that I have a 22mm follie ready to pop! Ha! Suck it mean doctor!

Loads of curvy cyster's fall preggo all the time, we can too! All's we need is a bit of help from evil Clomid. I hope your side effects are minimal. Mine weren't too bad, hot flushes, bit of nausea but all bearable.
