Default You Are Not Alone

fkjn,

I know that it all seems very scary and overwhelming right now. We have all been there. Please tell you parents soon. They will probably be one of your best sources for support. They love you whether or not you give them grandchildren!

As for children, there are lots of women that post on this site that have children. I am one of them. I was 14 when I was diagnosed and told I would never have children without medical intervention. Well, I believed this and got pregnant on accident when I was 23! My son is now 16. It's may not be easy but many, many women with PCOS have children one way or another.

As for weight gain, baldness, hair growth, etc... Each woman with PCOS has different symptoms. Also, you know that you have it and there are plenty of treatments to deal with these symptoms before they get out of hand if they appear. Years ago, when I was diagnosed, all they did was put me the pill. I did not have the internet or a wonderful site like SoulCysters to educate myself with. I encourage you to learn all you can and find a doctor to help guide your treatment.

Sorry this was so long but I wanted you to know that you are not alone in this and you can post on this site anytime you have questions or concerns. You may also contact me personally if you like. Lori

fkjn, lori and so many others AND yourself are simply amazing! You've surely done the right thing coming to this site... and I can understand your worry getting in the way of life but do whatever you can to get through exams and understand that there are so many of us with PCOS and we are able to live these lives to the fullest even dropping off tracks here and there. I've had variations of symptoms over the years and honestly they come and go and I'm not all toooo worried.... just sad sometimes that I'm not yet pregnant of course. But I haven't even tried any of the trails so many of these ladies have - just try not to fret, I know easier said than done. But really, what would you be doing right now had you not found out this news? do that, for now .

Hello- I was 18 when I found out I had PCOS and I remember being scared too. The more you learn about PCOS I think the better you will feel because you will be empowered to do something about it. Although I have not conceived yet, my Doc is hopeful that with the meds I'm on that it will happen. Try to keep your cycles regular if they are not so that it will help you have a child in the future. Take care of yourself, eat right, exercise. This will help with the blood pressure. Like the other ladies said, you have come to the right place and each woman experiences different symptoms. There is a forum for thin cysters on here that are not overweight and you may never become overweight. I hope you feel better...and if you are ever having a bad day, there are a lot of women here to help you feel better.
