I have been getting this doctor's newsletter for some time and thought this book might be of interest:

I just printed that newsletter to take to the doc b/c it talked about young girls and PCOS. I just finished reading about the cookbook and was wondering if it was really good...
I also have this book - I bought it as an "e-book" and printed it out. I know there is an updated addition due out soon. I REALLY find this book helpful, and the recipes are very good, and it includes a planner to keep track of the meals you want to try, etc. HIGHLY recommended. I would suggest reading this book before starting any medications that will only correct symptoms. Natural means take longer than drugs, but will get to the source of the problems, not just the symptoms. There are so many symptoms, and no drug can address all of them, anyway.

Dollfin, thanks for your input. I've been wondering if it would be worth it to buy the book. I'm wondering if you've read the Collette Harris PCOS diet book and how similar they are? I didn't find her book very practical--it would have cost me a fortune to implement.

The Natural Diet book is very worth it. The e-book is only $15, but I think the paperback is more. I'm not sure how much. I just printed the e-book out and put it in a binder with tabs to separate the chapters. I has a ton of recipes, and once you have down what you like, you can also go from there to make your own dishes. The biggest thing she talks about is being NATURAL! No more processed foods, no more white foods (white potatoes, white rice, white sugar, white bread, etc), or at least minimal. And it is a very practical book - you can use it for the rest of your life. It is basically just a HEALTHY way to live, so anyone can live by her suggestions and be healthy. And no, I haven't read that other book. I have heard of it, and considered buying it, but it sounded very complicated. The Natural Diet book is very easy and the ingredients are normal foods.
By the way, my mom is an herbalist and we do everything as naturally as we can - traditional medicine is the last resort rather than the first. I have had quite a bit of success just in how I FEEL since my diagnosis, which was about a year and a half ago. I don't do everything perfectly, but much better than I was. Still not perfect, but I'm getting there. Going natural and actually healing your body takes longer than just treating the symptoms of the problem.

There's a link in the first post at the very bottom.
