Default New Dr appt. Is it too late?

I had my m/c on Mar 2nd and I have a Dr.'s appt with a new Dr on the 23rd (maybe sooner if they can fit me in) My old Dr. was hateful, and completely unconcerned about why this happened and performed no tests and does not want to see me again for a followup. I know a lot of m/c's cannot be explained, but will this Dr. be able to tell me anything or is it too late?

I'm really afraid of getting pg again. I just have a feeling there is something wrong that needs to be addressed before I get pg again, but I don't know what to do about it.

Any advice will be appreciated!
Thanks!!

Jenny...i really wonder why youre old doc is being such an idiot...bedside manner really sucks! Oh well, you're moving on anyway so it doesnt matter...but i sure am curious. How can she/he be so cold and refuse to do a follow-up...of any kind...it just doesnt make sense. Sure as shootin' doesnt sound professional...in ANY way!
Anyway...seeing a new doctor is a great first step. Whether he/she can tell you anything...at the very least getting support and compassion will do wonders. I had 4 doctors...my endo, gp, obgyn and my high risk ob...i have appts with all of them. My high risk guy...i'm not too sure about him i feel like he dropped the ball...but part of healing is finding answers so that you can move forward.

Did your baby go for testing(pathology?) I should be getting my results next wednsday...you have the right to see your own chart...at least have all your medical records transferred as soon as possible before seeing the new doc...

maybe, and i know it will be hard...but write in detail everything that happened minute by minute and hand it over to new doc so that you dont have to try to compose yourself long enough to explain it...

Good luck...

((((hugs Jenny))))

I know how hard it is to go through a m/c with crappy drs. I can't say for sure what your new dr is going to do but after my first, the only things that were done was the tissue was tested for products of conception and I went in two weeks later to make sure my cervix was closed and my beta was zero. I got the speech about how it's just bad luck, a lot of women have m/c's, don't worry about it, your chances for next time are the same as a woman that hasn't had a m/c, etc. In fact, even after my third, my old dr's office offered to do the recurrent m/c testing but were still giving me the bad luck speech. My new dr seems to be a little better about it and I hope yours is as well. Good Luck and ((((more hugs)))).

Well, I can tell you that alot of drs don't do testing after the 1st m/c. You usually have to wait until m/c 2 or 3. I had to wait until m/c 3 in order to start testing. There are alot of drs & actually alot of women (even ones that have been through m/c's) that say 1 m/c is a "fluke" & that the chances are very small that it will happen again. I can tell you that after my 2nd m/c I had several women tell me that they had a m/c & went on to have babies (of course I was one of the exceptions...). It's also possible that if you go through the RPL testing that nothing will be found at all which is the case alot of times. I just wanted to let you know that it sometimes really is just a mistake of sorts.

Good Luck w/ your new dr. I hope his bedside manner is much, much better than your last one. {{{HUGS}}}
